The Director

Ian Gent gained his degree in civil & structural engineering from Cardiff University in 1983 and joined W.G Curtin & Partners in Mold, North Wales as a structural design engineer. He has since worked for major engineering companies Ovearup, and Taylor Woodrow. Involving the design of large scale steel & re-inforced concrete structures during the construction of the reactor section at Heysham Nuclear power station. Gent Construction was founded in 1990 primarily as a contracting firm, and has since developed into a full portfolio of services and a proud track record of delivery on many prestigious projects.

Heysham Nuclear Power station

Working on heysham Nuclear power station included:-

· Temporary support structures for cranes, and landing platforms for 100 tonne overhead cranes

· Tensioning to reactor walls & grouting of solid steel anchor boxes of 800mm sq.

· Each restraining 840 tons per block

· setting out and supervising 400m3 concrete pours to the reactor walls

Gent construction are a member of the National Federation of Builders & The North Wales Construction Training group and local HSE Working Well Together Scheme.
